Topic FREE TIME

Free time (czas wolny)

                   FREE TIME
Youth leisure time is one that remains after completing school and household duties, in which you can do things according to your will and needs. It is reasonable when a free time is devoted to rest , which gives pleasure, voluntary and disinterested social activities, development of interests and talents, amateur artistic, scientific or sports activities. Its absence has a strong and negative impact on health, relationship with people and personal achievement. A free time wisely filled with relevant activities is essential and has a positive role in the development of personality. One of the basic functions of leisure time is the renewal of physical and mental strength. The second function of a free time is entertainment, which is to provide a variety of experiences, joy and satisfaction. The entertainment function is to compensate for the monotony of a day, family and school duties, boredom and repetitive daily activities.
We want to find out how young people spend their free time in Gorzów, what places they visit most often and what is their passion. We are also curious whether and where young people develop their interests and talents.
         Activities
We will ask students of the middle and secondary schools to complete the survey we prepared. On the base of the analysis of the students’ responses we will create a ranking of favourite places and institutions in Gorzów, where young people can develop their talents.
A guidebook as well as a folder informing young people  of the places where they can spend their free time creatively will be published. We will prepare a film in which we tell and present the most interesting places in Gorzów.

ECOLOGY TOPIC

ECOLOGY TOPIC

The benefits to our school from the use of natural energy sources  (solar heating).

Solar radiation is commonly available, completely pure and the most natural  of all the  available energy sources. Solar collector is a device changing solar energy into heat. The rule of operation is simple - the sun's rays heat the heat carrier (eg, glycol), which then heats the water collected in a special tank. The use of solar collectors is one of the most environmentally friendly methods of energy production.
We want to find out what specific benefits of solar heating there are in our school. We will try to compare the costs of installing and operating solar panels with the traditional system for hot water and estimate savings.

   ACTIVITIES:
  1. We will gather information on the installation and operation of solar collectors.
  2. On the base of collected information we will create and describe the scheme of the solar installation.
  3. By analyzing and comparing the collected documentation, electricity bills etc. we will calculate what measurable benefits our school has of renewable energy sources.
  4. We will present the results of our work on the boards, website and  make a DVD.
